AIMS AND OBJECTIVES – ASNIM

  • To unite the Muslim Ummah under the guidance of the Glorious Qur’an and Sunnah.
  • To serve as a united front for all the Muslim Ummah in the country and to coordinate their activities with a view to foster unity and the promotion mutual relationship among them.
  • To promote their interest and defend their rights in all ramifications of the nation’s socio-economic and political developments.
  • To provide forum through which Muslim Ummah can come together to discuss issues of common interest particularly as it affects Islam.
  • To encourage and promote the study of the Glorious Qur’an and Arabic language as the lingua-franca of the Islamic world.
  • To inculcate the cardinal principles of Islam as explained by the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) to the Muslim Ummah, with the aim of achieving Taqwa (Islamic piety) and high moral standard that will personify the ideals of Islam.
  • To be the mouthpiece of the Muslim Ummah in the nation’s dialogue, and where necessary, negotiate with the Federal and State Government on matters relating to their welfare, rights and privileges in particular, and also to reflect on the nation’s socio-economic and political development, and proffer constructive advice to the Government.
  • To strive for the advancement of Islamic education and establish relevant institutions, and to conduct researches on specific matters and organize programmes that will bring into realization the educational emancipation of the Muslim Ummah, and enhance Da’awah.
  • To stimulate and encourage the attainment of excellence by the Muslim in fields of endeavour e.g. science and technology.
  • To liaise with the national and international organization whose defined aims are in consonance with the cardinal principles or teaching of Islam.
  • To offer assistance to its indigenous MEMBERS through scholarship, financial or material aids, and perform humanitarian, voluntary and charitable activities to alleviate the suffering of the handicapped and the less-privileged.
  • To identify itself with the prevailing situation of the nation, and organize relevant programmes like seminars, symposia, debates, lectures and workshops that focus on the Islamic viewpoint on such issues (Q3:104).
  • To enhance the administrative effectiveness of its MEMBERS, and other Islamic Associations.
  • To INVEST in halal ventures to sustain Islamic activities and programmes in the country, empower and create employment opportunities for Muslims, and as much as possible, reduce economic dependence of the Muslim Ummah (Q2:275).
